The Board of Directors is the Council's strategy making organ, it is composed of three Directors that serve indefinitely.
The Chairman of the Board is the Director in charge of coordinating the work of the Board of Directors.
The Executive Director is dedicated to deploy the strategy designed by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director has a 5 year term, renewable. The Executive Director represents the Council at all levels and areas, serves as the Council's speaker, is in charge of the Council's operations, and of securing the viability of the organization.
The Board of Advisors, or "The Core", is a thinktank composed of subject matter experts, with extensive experience, deep understanding and strong connections in the matter of their expertise. Advisors serve voluntarily, for a period of two years, renewable, and are appointed by the Executive Director.

Jose Carlo Burga, founded the Peruvian Business Council in 2007, designed its structure, developed and deployed its core strategy, created the Council's signature traditions delivering 2 annual versions of the Peru Day™ at the New York Stock Exchange, 9 annual versions of the Peru Investment Forum™ in New York City, as well as international versions of the Forum in Sao Paulo, Toronto and Vancouver, in addition he conceived and delivered two versions of the Peru Investment Report elaborated by Mrs. Claudia Cooper; serving as Executive President of the Council until 2015. Since 2019 Jose Carlo Burga is serving as Senior Advisor on Sustainability and ESG at the International Economic Alliance, and between 2013 and 2018, he served as CEO of the Latin America Program of the Alliance. Previous to that Mr. Burga served as Director of Fundraising at the Archdioceses of New York, where he was part of team that raised 219 million dollars for the Archdioceses Bicentennial Campaign. In 2005 he co-founded Terranova Strategic Partner, a New York City based consulting firm specialized in the Andean sub region of Latin America. Between 2000 and 2004 Jose Carlo Burga served as Policy Analyst and as a Program Analyst at the UNDP-Bolivia, working in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals in Bolivia. Mr. Burga has a profound passion for cooking which keeps him connected to the pleasure of expressing love through food. He is based in New York City, where he shares with the mother of their children, the human experience of raising two teenager daughters.

Under the leadership of the Executive Director, the Director of Operations is in charge of securing the day to day operation of the Council, as well as of the operations of a programme portfolio in the areas of fundraising, member stewardship, and symposia.
