Ray Meloni is the Director of the Master's Degree in Business Law at Universidad de Lima, a consultant, a teacher of Intellectual Property in several Postgraduate Schools in Peru and an international speaker on topics related to intellectual property (2016 to present).
Ray is also the President of the Dispute Settlement Tribunal of the Peruvian Energy, Gas and Mining Investment Supervisory Agency OSINERGMIN (October 2020 to present).
In 2007 Ray co-founded with Jose Carlo Burga the Peruvian Business Council.
For seven years, Ray served as Director of the Distinctive Signs Directorate of Indecopi and as President of the Commission of this Directorate (April 2014-March 2021).
Before that, he worked as a consultant for international organizations designing strategies for the protection and management of intellectual property rights for development.
At the international level, Ray has served as vice-president of the Intellectual Property and Development Committee and the Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Committee of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
He is a doctoral candidate at the Universidad de Alicante (2017 to present) with a Master’s degree in Law with a mention in Business Law from the Universidad de Lima (2000 to 2003). His postgraduate studies are in intellectual property in the United States, Europe and Japan. He received scholarships from the Governments of France, Spain and the United States for internships in entities that administer intellectual property systems and, in particular, geographical indications.
