Jose Carlo Burga is Founding Director, and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Peruvian Business Council, a non-profit organization with offices in Lima and New York City, dedicated to promoting Peruvian exportation and Investments to Peru.
Jose Carlo also leads Ajayu ESG Consulting Corp, a consulting firm dedicated to help small and medium companies to incorporate environmental, social and governance factors into their business strategies and overall corporate decision making process.
Jose Carlo conceived, launched, and successfully delivered the Peruvian Business Council as a public-private-partnership to promote the flow of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) to Peru through economic research, government relations, engagement, international public debate on investment experiences and opportunities in Peru, as well as through the open discussion on challenges affecting specific investments in Peru. Later on he was able to replicate that experience at the regional level in Latin America through the International Economic Alliance, an organization conceived at Harvard University dedicated to promote economic understanding between nations.
Previous to that he was part of the team that raised 219 million dollars for a faith-based capital campaign in New York City and has extensive fundraising experience in Latin America and the U.S. He also worked for the United Nations in the implementation in Bolivia of the Millennium Development Goals, through policy and program analysis, sustainable investment (Official Development Assistance - ODA) focusing on decentralization, conflict prevention & management, poverty eradication, human rights and gender.
